At Bayside Animal Hospital, we know that unexpected veterinary emergencies are scary, especially when it can be difficult to find an appointment when you need it.

Our hospital offers same-day appointments and urgent care for sick and injured pets during our regular business hours, which are:

  • Monday–Friday: 8:00 a.m.–5:30 p.m.

Heatstroke

During the summer months, animals can struggle with heatstroke in the Granite Bay, California region. Without proper medical attention, heatstroke can cause brain swelling, reduced kidney function, and overheating of body tissues.

Signs of Heatstroke:

  • Deep panting and salivation
  • Drowsiness or sleepiness
  • Collapse

  • Place the pet in a blanket for transport
  • Call us right away when seizure episodes occur so we can prepare for your visit.

Allergic Reactions

The majority of allergic reactions in animals are due in large part to insects. Other allergens can be food, vaccines, or other medications. Mild reactions are defined by small swelling in a localized area, severe reactions can progress to anaphylactic shock.
